We are excited to announce the 13th Annual FREE Educational Print Festival, GRABADOLANDIA 2025! Please find Important Information and the promotional Poster and Postcards, including the Schedule of activities, attached to this email. We encourage you to share these widely! GRABADOLANDIA 2025 (Vendors Print Fair) , which will take place Sunday, November 23rd from 10 am to 5 pm at the National Museum of Mexican Art. (1852 W. 19th Street, Chicago, IL 60608). This family-friendly event is for guests to learn more about printmaking through immersive hands-on activities presented by print shops around the city of Chicago and beyond.
Studio Meet-Up: Perfectly Acceptable Press
Join us for an afternoon studio visit with Matt Davis, founder of Perfectly Acceptable Press — a small publishing house and Risograph printing studio. This visit offers a behind-the-scenes look at Matt’s vibrant publishing practice, where design, print production, and independent distribution meet. Participants will have the chance to learn about Risograph printing and hear insights into running a small press.

We are so back! The Chicago Printers Guild’s Annual Publishers Fair is returning to the Chicago Cultural Center for the second year in a row on Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 11 am–5 pm. All are welcome to join us as we celebrate our sweet 16 with more than 30 vendors at our 7th Annual flagship event.
The Chicago Printers Guild’s Annual Publishers Fair is more than an exhibition for local artists
— It’s our yearly celebration of the exciting and unpredictable printmaking culture thriving across Chicago and the Midwest. All are welcome to join us for the second year in a row under the iconic Tiffany dome at Preston Bradley Hall to peruse prints and posters, flip through zines and artist books, and groove to live DJ sets alongside our curated roster of printmakers and independent publishing houses from across the Second City and beyond.

Sketchbook from Scraps Bookmaking Workshop
Join artist Millicent Kennedy for a hands-on bookmaking workshop where you’ll create your own blank journal or notebook using misprints, offprints, and studio scraps. This workshop emphasizes sustainability and creativity by transforming discarded materials into functional and beautiful objects.
Participants are welcome to bring their own printed papers for use as covers; however, all necessary tools and supplies will be provided. No prior bookbinding experience needed.

To celebrate Chicago Exhibition Weekend, The Chicago Art Book Fair presents: Preface, a showcase of publishers, print media artists, and dialogues ahead of our 2026 full-scale relaunch.
CHICAGO EXHIBITION WEEKEND The third annual Chicago Exhibition Weekend features 50 participating galleries and creative spaces across the city from September 19–21, spotlighting Chicago’s vibrant cultural landscape and artistic spirit for locals and visitors alike. Building off the success of last year’s edition, which attracted 5,000 attendees over three days, CXW25 will expand its footprint with 50 participating galleries, demonstrating the vitality and diversity of the city’s growing commercial art scene.

Join fellow CPG members for a special visit to the Newberry Library, hosted by Will Hansen, co-curator of Native Pop!, vice president for collections and library services, and curator of Americana at the Newberry.
This session will showcase zines, artists’ books, and other print-based works from the library’s Indigenous Studies collection, with a focus on contemporary material by Indigenous creators.
Explore how Indigenous artists and writers use independent publishing to shape narratives, assert cultural identity, and influence popular culture — themes central to the Native Pop! exhibition.

Documenting Women's Health with Zines: A Conversation and Zine Workshop
Join Chicago Printers Guild member Nia Easley in conversation with Scout Bratt from the Chicago Women's Health Center and Marnie Galloway, cartoonist and illustrator, as they discuss the cross-section of art and health using zines as a medium. Nia will then lead a zine workshop for participants.

Every month, The Chicago Printers Guild invites our members and community to get a look at where printmakers across our beautiful city get their hands dirty. ALL are welcome to join us for our first studio visit of 2025 with printmaker and typographer Vida Sačić.
Vida has invited us to her workspace at Mana Contemporary where she will share some pieces, show off her equipment, and give us all a closer look at her process.

Vida is currently a professor at the Northeastern Illinois University Art + Design Department, and her personal work brings together color and type to share how the immigrant experience and the American Dream align.
